While attending Delaware State University in the late 2000s, Hazzard continued writing music in her spare time, and upon graduation moved out to L.A. “That’s kind of what made me want to write and got me into writing.” “I used to write poetry and short stories,” she explains. On April 4, Halsey released the lead single “Now or Never” off of her new upcoming album hopeless fountain kingdom, which was also co-written by Starrah. On March 28, when Calvin Harris announced his new single featuring Pharrell, Ariana Grande and Young Thug titled “Heatstroke,” Starrah was listed in the credits as a writer and background vocalist.
